ejector spring
ejector spring
Does the 870 knight hawk magpull shotgun come with a stiffer ejector spring I looked at one and it felt like it did. My 870 express tactical has 500 rds through it and the knight hawk was new never shot

Re: ejector spring
Remington only makes two 870 ejector springs; one for Super Magnums, and another for all other large-frame models (small-frame 870s don't have ejector springs). There isn't some special "heavy duty" part that they use for certain guns, the ejector spring you'll find in an Express will be the same as the one in a Police or Wingmaster model. As for the Nighthawk, unless they custom-make their own version of the ejector spring (doubtful), it'll be the same as well.
This of course doesn't rule out the possibility that your gun may have ended up with a weaker spring due to a manufacturing defect such as improper heat treating. Due to how the 870 ejects shells, this is something that could easily have been missed during QC checks and test firings at the factory.
