I picked one of these up last night on a whim. I've been wanting one for along time, and when I saw this one which was used in the war, I could not resist. Just wondering what it's worth and what I should look for in it. Hope someone here can school me on this firearm. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean 870? I can find no reference to a model 872 anywhere... It's not a 572 is it?

Mine went everywhere with me.
They were 870's with 21" barrel and bayonet mount.
