So I have a 12GA Remington 870 Wingmaster, but I don't really know anything about it. Was hoping maybe someone on here that is more knowledgeable about them than myself could tell me roughly what year or was made and any other information that might be relevant.
I attached a picture with the serial number shown and etc.
( Serial# T118253V )

Re: Remington 870 WingMaster Help?
The "T" prefix on the serial number points to a mid-to-late 1970s manufacture date. 1974 - 1978 specifically. The "V" suffix on a gun that age indicates that it was a 12ga 2.75" non-magnum (2.75" or shorter shells) model. It's possible a previous owner may have converted it to handle 3" shells at some point (pretty easily done by changing the barrel and two internal parts), but if the barrel also has a 2.75" chamber, it probably wasn't converted.

Thanks for the info, the barrel itself does indeed specify 2.75". Any idea what the usual going price for one of these is?Synchronizor wrote:The "T" prefix on the serial number points to a mid-to-late 1970s manufacture date. 1974 - 1978 specifically. I don't know exactly what the "blue book" value of a mid-70s Wingmaster would be. It depends on the condition, of course, as well as the exact model & features. Remington's made millions of these guns though, so unless yours is a special commemorative edition or a particularly high-grade Wingmaster in very good condition, I wouldn't expect to get too much for it. You could check sites like GunBroker to see what similar 870s are going for.
