For-end tube assembly rubbing on magazine tube

Post by dunnman1981 »

the for-end tube assembly is rubbing on the magazine tube and leaving scratch marks. I don't believe its in the metal, just the finish but i was just wondering if this was normal or if there is something wrong with the adjustment of the for-end tube assembly. i have a magpul moe for-end installed.

This is normal wear due to the steel fore-end tube assembly riding on the steel magazine tube. Here's another thread discussing it.

When you have your gun apart for cleaning or configuration, you can wipe a light coat of oil onto the magazine tube before reassembling the gun. This won't do much to prevent the wear marks, but it will help to keep the exposed metal from rusting if you get your gun wet.
