Stoped by to say Hi from Connecticut

Post by Emt_156 »

Newbie shot gun owner here. I bought a Sportsman 12 pump magnum just after Thanksgiving. I finally got to shoot it this past weekend 4th of July. I've borrowed 870 from friend to pheasant hunt with my dad who also owns an 870 express magnum. So I decided to finally buy one. Right now I was thinking of a dual purpose shotgun for home defense and hunting. I want to keep it simple. Does anyone else do the same thing?

Yeah, the 870's a very versatile gun. Just changing the barrel and screwing on a magazine extension instead of a cap can turn a hunting gun into a fully-capable defensive piece. There are very few compatibility issues to worry about between different 870 models & years, and changing barrels is a snap.
