Date of Manufacture

Post by decoy »

Just bought a .410 Rem 870 Express. and interested in what year manufactured.

Also it says on barrel .410 Ga. for 3" plastic shells.

Let me know what you think. Gun is 99.5% with the box still with it one owner. Has a funny looking design on hard buttplate.

Thanks for any help

We'll need more information than that to help you date your 870. The serial number prefix & barrel date code would be best. If you want the most precise answer though, you'd probably be best off calling or emailing Remington with your serial number. They'll be able to date the gun better than we could.

Great advice! I sent Remington an email with my serial number and they got back to me the next day with the year of manufacture.
