Hello all,
Signed up a little while ago, and seem to have forgotten an intro. I've been shooting shotguns for a few years; primarily using vintage doubles for clay's, skeet, and general bird hunting.
I bought my first 870 about 15 or so years ago to use for home defense, and installed a few small components (extended tube, cheap fiber optic bead). Pretty much have shot it like that and hadn't thought too much about it as it always works. My wife wanted to shoot it, so I put on a you stock that better suits her build, but made it harder for me.
So, I picked up another, this one a bit older (1989 or so if my dates are correct). The new one simply says 870 Magnum, has what appears to be parkerized finish, had a factory extended magazine tube, and basic wood furniture. It's a smooth bore, but has rifle like sights on it. Overall a nice combination of components.
Joined the forum to find out more on the models, and to learn more about the 870 in general. I've never had an issue, but it would be nice to be more familiar with them.
I've been looking through the forum just reading up on things, and thought it might be worth posting an intro.
Thanks for reading,
RSD

Re: New from New Hampshire
Welcome to the forum! I just recently joined, but it does seem like the place to go for all things 870.
BTW, what stock did you put on for your wife? My wife has the same issue with the standard configuration, the lenglth of pull is far too long for her.
