Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum and I am sure this question has been asked but I couldn't seem to find it when I searched for it. Here is my situation and I am hoping you can help. I recently purchased an 870 Express Tactical that comes from Remington with the Magpul furniture on it. I want to remove the buttstock so I can attach a Magpul sling mount. I have seen a bunch of videos and instructions on how to install an aftermarket Magpul stock. They all show the opening on the top of the stock where you unscrew the bolt to disconnect it. Since this gun came from the factory with the Magpul stock already attached, that top opening has the plastic cover over the bolt. It seems that Remington sealed or glued that cover so that it won't easily come off. I have tried prying and pulling at it but haven't had any luck and don't want to damage it. I am assuming that is the only way to attach this sling mount.
Has anybody else run into this and have you figured out a work around?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Removing the factory Magpul stock.
Get a very small straight blade screwdriver and slip in down between the rubber plug and stock, and work the plug up out.
Then you need a 3/16 allen wrench to remove the stock.
Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out
