There are a ton of different ways to mount a flashlight on an 870. Can you be more specific about where or how you want to attach the light?

As for the buttstock shell holder, a simple slip-on cuff-style shell holder is probably your simplest and cheapest option, and it works pretty well. If you want to get a little more secure and versatile, you can get an elastic shell holders that attach using Velcro. Or, if you're the handy type, you can attach a rigid plastic shell holder to the stock.

bump.

I recently bought a new fore end on a whim. Had a $10 off cupon at dvor.com and got a Mako 870

I was attracted to it because my 870 (express tactical w/ 6rd mag tube) is a little limited as far as options go due to the barrel restrictions so you have to get clever. The only major attatchment I want is a nice but affordable light. This fore end allows for attatchments on L,R and bottom. Im looking to mount a flashlight on the bottom.

As far as Mako goes, the product is sturdy but I've noticed right away that it is not flush like the factory part so if you are just holding it you can kind of wiggle it with no effort. Now, it doesn't affect the performance in a negative way but I can see people seeing this as a negative. For now, i'll settle and see how it works with a flashlight mounted for the real test.
