Remington SPS Super Magnum 12ga BIG RED

I know this is my first post to this forum. I posted this on Sig Talk as well. I figured I may as well put it on a forum where people would be more interested in it.

I really hate to put her up for sale, but other obligations force sale. $950 SHIPPED lower 48

This is a Remington Special Purpose Shotgun Super Magnum Express.

Here is a list of what I have done to it:

Base shotgun with 23’’ barrel - $650
20” Hastings Rifled Slug barrel with adjustable iron sights- $250
18” Mossberg Breacher barrel- $150
Knoxx Spec Ops Recoil Compensating M4 Stock- $130

This shotgun was sent to CEREKOTE in Oregon to get finished. This was actually finished at Cerekote because my gunsmith was unable to apply the H-221 Crimson Red correctly. This finish cost me $400 to get done. It is amazing! I call her “Big Red”, and with good reason. This shotgun has taken a 450lb hog at 175 yards with a sabot slug using the hastings barrel and scope. This is one sweet shotgun. The stock makes shooting 3 1/2 inch shells feel like a 20 gauge. This gun is kept in a humidity controlled fire safe, and has zero issues. It cycles flawlessly, from 3 1/2” buckshot, 3 inch rifled slugs, 2 3/4 inch sabots, birdshot, buckshot, anything. This gun can breach doors, kill deer and hogs, birds, coyotes, anything really with 4 legs or two wings.

I really like that paint job. Folks always seem to stick with black or FDE for some reason, and it's cool to see more originality. A shotgun does not need to be matte black to be effective, especially in recreational, sporting, and defensive roles. No intruder's going to laugh off a 12ga just because it isn't a tacti-cool color, and if the folks at the gun range think it's silly, who cares?

Surprisingly, when you see it in person it just looks awesome. I have never gotten a negative comment about it. The reason I chose H-221 Crimson Red is because it is dark enough to hunt with without reflecting light. I also wanted something on one else had. I am pretty sure the deer see my blaze orange vest long before they ever see my shotgun. Aside from the fact that deer don't see colors in the red spectrum.

No joy with Big Red. Anyone want to throw a suggested price out there? I have a ton of money in it so I dont want to give it away either

Ok. Lets take a vote. No one seems to want a blood red shotgun. I am going to bead blast it and re-cerekote it another color. What color would be most desirable? I am thinking cerekote magpul flat dark earth or od green... Anyone

If you're going to re-paint the thing just to sell it, I would suggest giving the buyer the opportunity to select the color. "Deluxe 870 SuperMag setup for sale; will Cerakote to the color of your choice". Seems like that would give it the widest possible appeal.
