870P with Breeching muzzle

Post by Johnboat114 »

Hello guys....I just joined your forum looking for a little help... A friend of mine wants a 870 Police Magnum with a Breeching barrel. Is there a barrel that comes with that style muzzle device or does the 870P model have the removeable chokes that I could change it to the breeching choke? I am not that versed in the shotguns but I am going to have to learn. I owe this person several favors and I am attempting to repay one here with this build. He wants a Sage International Stock, Scattergun Technologies Ghost ring sights, Ergo tri rail pump, Riot extension and a rail mounted sling mount...He found a guy that had this particular set up and got the list of parts and is insisting on them. So, should I start off with a 870P and do the mods...or is there a better way to reach his end goals...? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

The 870P doesn't come with a barrel threaded for chokes. The breacher choke you see on some 870s will be found on the Express Tactical. If that choke setup is necessary, it might be easier to go with an Express as your base gun and build it up from there. You can upgrade the Express to Police Magnum-spec with a few springs (and if it matters to him/you, the metal trigger assembly - Expresses use polymer). The big difference aside from parts will be the finish on the gun. The P uses a very tough parkerized finish, vs. the bead blasted matte black on the Express model.

Good luck with the project, welcome to the forum.
