Stuck forend tube nut
Stuck forend tube nut
Any tricks to removing a stuck forend tube nut? I've already chipped one of the teeth on the Magpul tool and it's not budging. I just soaked it down with WD-40 and will see if it's loosened at all by tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

ATI makes a tool and I think they sell a 3 piece set for 870 and Mossbergs. I'm gonna say $50?

i'd suggest,PB blaster, kroil or lastly liquid wrench.Only a few drops of course due to close proximity to the wood. Although I don't see wood or plastic furniture mentioned.plastic= then its safe from solvents (i think).Wood= be cautious .Let it soak for a few hours/days.Then try it. GOOD LUCK. l

Success, but not without a little damage. Soaked it with WD-40 for about 36 hours. Wood stock so I couldn't submerge it, just sprayed as much as I could in and around the nut. Destroyed the Magpul tool. Finally had to take a hammer and nail punch and continually tap it around using the notch for bite. Took about 45 minutes but it finally broke through. There's some damage to the threads on the tube, but I chased them and there's no functional problem. The nut, however, needs to be replaced. It's still functional, but would probably not come off another time, and for $10 I'm just going to replace it.
Had almost as much of a problem with the stock bolt. Had to soak that down with WD-40 as well. I don't think this gun was shot much, but it wasn't cared for much either.
