Is this an Express model?
I have seen an 870 being described as a Tactical Synthetic. It has an 18-1/2" barrel, and is a 3" 12 ga., and has a full length mag tube. The serial number is R997XXXA. Would this be an Express model with plastic and MIM? It would be a project gun, so I'm looking to see how many replacement parts I'd need to buy.

Yup, all the models labeled Tactical are Expresses. Pretty much everything except Wingmasters and Police Magnums, actually.

That being the case, I can get a Wingmaster for the same price, I'll go that route.
