Hello Everyone!
I want to ask why the RH (top view) Latch mount over the receiver rail when cycling some shotshells? There is a report about this problem? I been lapped the rail border to ensure tand smooth the latch work but with no result. Could a very cycled live shotshell cause the problem?, the more problematic are remington 00 buckshot 2 3/4.
Thanks!
Regards

Re: Latch Problem
Not clear on what your problem is. Something to do with your shell latch? And a rail? I'm not sure you're using the proper part names, a more detailed description of the problem would be helpful (there's a parts list in your owner's manual that gives you the proper names for everything), and pictures never hurt, either.
Re: Latch jamming Problem
Yes you are right, the right latch (upper view, ejection port latch) unseat itself over the guide, jamming the feeding......
Please help!!!!! i don't want to make wait to the bad guys due a shotgun jamming

Re: Latch Problem
If I'm understanding correctly, it sounds like the shell latch's follower piece is riding up over the action bar on the wrong side. When working properly, the action bars will depress the shell latches by moving them aside towards the outside of the receiver, but if something is damaged or the gun was assembled incorrectly, they can sometimes ride over the inside of the action bar instead, which will result in a fail-to-feed.
Is this what's happening with your gun? If so, it may just be assembled improperly. Or, your action bars or shell latches may be damaged or defective. Both are fairly inexpensive to replace, though the shell latches take some know-how to install.
Pictures would still be helpful.

Re: Latch Problem
It'd probably be better to have the latches properly staked if you or someone in your area knows how. If you glue them, you could cause some function issues.
Re: Latch Problem
The problem is that Brownells is out of stock of staker tools, and i read about many successful histories with glue more over the pins do the effort.
But do you know a effective way to pull out the latches? I'm planning to insert a screwdriver from the back ....

Re: Latch Problem
Glue can work, but it's not ideal. If you can't do the staking yourself, I'd recommend checking with gunsmiths in your area. It's not a complicated process, and it'd probably be worth it to get them installed properly.
As for removal, you can usually pry them out from the back, but if the staking is not letting the latch go, try tapping the latches rearward a little to loosen them up. I've never done this myself, so if anyone else has first-hand experience, feel free to chime in.

Re: Latch Problem
On my guns I quit staking them years ago. The only thing staking them does is make it easier to install the trigger group. Just hold them in place with your fingers while installing the trigger group and then install the pins and it will work just fine.

Re: Latch Problem
Finally I changed both latch and forehand assembly, seems to be that everything is ok now!
