Awesome! I'd love to take an extended class like that. Sounds like a good time. Great looking 870, too - yours and mine are almost identical.

Thanks! I plan to keep her looking that way, it just plain old works!

I would love to get back out there this winter for a 2 day "skill builder" class and re test at the end.

Here are some Remington Tin advertisements that I found in a basement. I just wanted to share these, sorry about the resolution This is the lowest I could get them for some strange reason.

My other 870P is on it's way back to Remington and a lucky bingo night for the wife funded a backup 870. After unsuccessfully negotiating a price for a 870P with the plain XS sights I asked if they just had any of the plain jane P's in wood again as they were a fair price. I was surprised when he brought out this blue one with the chromed bolt. Not what I was after but I couldn't leave it behind, just too damn pretty! Once my paperwork cleared a different salesperson rang it up for the $75 cheaper than originally planned. Stupid conscience got in the way and I had to fess up... Still OTD $600, probably not the best deal in the world but fair to me.

I got an ACOG in trade and and thought I would take it in to the local gun store that I have sold and traded a lot of guns at. I was able to trade it straight across for an 870P!
I got a dealer exclusive model that is not normally offered from Remington.
It is a 870P parkerized with the 18" BBL and low profile XS sights with the Trijicon tridium front sight. These sights are only offered on the 14" BBL models. Score!
The tolerances on this gun are amazing. I have owned and been issued dozens of different 870 models and none of them were as well made and high quality as this one. I am very pleased and I am glad to see Remington can still make an awesome product.
I was Army Infantry for 13 years and Federal Park Ranger for 2 years so I have a healthy respect and appreciation for the 870. This is the nicest one I have ever touched and now I own it!!! The only thing I will do to improve it for now is add a big speed safety and a 2 round mag tube extension.

As soon as I got home I broke it down, cleaned all of the factory oil and grease off with iso alcohol and frog lubed all of the metal parts.

I had the Magpul furniture, tac light and velcro receiver piece sitting in my spare parts box so I put them to good use.

Trying heat up metal with a parkerized finish is useless...
