Older Action Bar Lock

Post by gard » Sun Mar 10, 2019 1:25 pm

I'm done my retro 870 build but I have a question. My build concept was to go old school and replace all plastic parts to metal, which included the trigger assembly. I'm aware of the benefits of modern polymer, but that not where this gun was going. I installed a vintage Wingmaster trigger group which worked out nicely. The only thing is that with the hammer cocked and the action bar lock engaged, the forend has a little more play than it did with the original one. The lock doesn't have any obvious wear. Is this an issue? How much play is too much?

Is the nut tight on the forend assembly tube?

Have you put the polymer one back in just to see if it eliminates the issue?

I have. There is the same front to back play but there is slightly more with the metal one.
