New to this forum, not to shooting.
My very first gun is a 20 gauge Wingmaster I received for Christmas 1965. Still shoot that gun.
It has a 28 inch full choke barrel. When I started hunting quail I picked up a 26 inch IC barrel. Since choke tubes were not around in those days.
I killed truck loads of squirrels, rabbits, doves, quail, ducks, and turkey with that gun as well as my first deer.
Both my boys learned wing shooting with it and when they grew a little I gave them each a 12 gauge Express. I use my 12 gauge Express for turkey and water foul now. But the 20 gauge Wingmaster is my favorite for shooting doves or quail.
For the past 20 or so years I’ve been shooting muzzleloaders more often than others. My 20 gauge flintlock smoothbore has a accounted for several spring turkey and my Navy Arms 12 gauge percussion side by side is doing good work on pheasants.
I plan to lurk around here a while and see what I can learn.
