creating an avatar????

Hi there. I am new to the site and I am trying to create an avatar for my profile. However I am having one heck of a time trying to get my file down to 6kb? I am definitely not new to computers, photo-editing etc. However I have NEVER had to create such a small image file. Can ANYONE tell me how to do this easily???? Feel like a total newb lol

Get the pic you want and sque it on MS paint! Lol make it like 50% smaller

Yeah... I have tried that. I even used a small file that I created in PS Elements 7 and it actually went up?!?!

Eureka!!!!! I figured it out. LOL Thanks. The first pic I was trying to use must have been the problem. Chose a different one and resized in MS Paint. Thanks. :D
