Shotgun specific classes and matches

Post by Sigma05 » Tue Jan 13, 2015 10:29 am

I've noticed that this forum doesn't have a section on classes or matches. If I'm wrong please guide me to right section. Ever since I decided to take my shotgun seriously, I have found it very difficult to find any form of training support out there. Other than the Magpul Dynamics classes, which I think are no longer available, I couldn't find any form of proper training. It has taken me many years to finally find a few places that offer occasional shotgun specific training. It has been a HUGE asset and has made me very comfortable with my shotgun. I actually choose it over my pistol for many applications because of how much more affective and flexible I have learned it to be. Would it be ok to share with other members when I find a class? Granted it will mainly be around the NC area because that's where I live, but I could post others if I run across them.

Shotgun specific matches are even rarer. Everything is three gun nowadays. When I finally found some shotgun specific matches I used them as a training tool that forced me to be outside my comfort zone. It has also been a HUGE asset and a great complement to the training I have taken. Both things go hand in hand. Remington actually sponsors shotgun specific matches. I would gladly share this information if the forum mods would be interested.

Shotgun matches are popular in Europe. There will be Shotgun World Shoot in Italy in the end of this year: http://www.shotgunworldshoot-italy.org/. There will be top shotgun shooters from all over the world.

You must be member of the USPSA to be able to participate in IPSC shotgun matches.

Chris Costa (ex Magpul Dynamics) holds shotgun classes via his Costa Ludus company: http://www.costaludus.com/index.php?rou ... ry&path=59
