My 870 Tactical Build

BTW you can use the Magpul Forend with the Mesa 20"rail /heatshield and sights like you mentioned. It does add some weight but with a Foregrip the reduction on recoil is nice and so is never touching a hot barrel LoL. Here is an example with my SHTF/Home defense shotgun. Lastly will be adding a Trijicon reflex when the $$ is right.

I like the way your Mesa 20" rail/sidesaddle looks. I 'm really tempted to get one of those myself. I have the same thing on mine, except its rail is only 5". I like the way the full length acts as a heat shield, and the option to add battle sights as well as a red dot. Looks like you got your tac light, it looks great how you've got it mounted. Very cool setup!

Very nice Rem Tactical setup quincy07. I put a gg+g follower in my 870 with a Wolf HD spring. I love the difference, from the factory plastic follower, feeds like a dream! Your 870 looks great!

+1 extensions mostly serve as a place for the magazine spring to compress into, shells don't extend up that far, so as long as the tail is shorter than the solid (fully-compressed) length of the spring, it won't cut down on capacity. You can check this by installing the follower and testing your capacity with and without the magazine spring (when testing without the spring, only remove the spring, keep all other hardware - spring retainer, extensions, spacers, etc - installed). Use the same empty shells each time, and mark on the last shell (which can't be inserted completely) how far you can get it into the magazine.

If the capacity with the spring is less than the capacity without the spring, the tail is not affecting your capacity.

If the capacity with the spring is the same as the capacity without the spring, it means the tail is long enough to hit the back of the magazine before the spring is fully compressed, and you will gain capacity by shortening it.

Yo quincy07, do wann sell the stock set that came w/your gun. If you do PM me and let know what you'd take for both. I can't afford too high a price, but maybe we could work something out.
BTW you're 870 looks great with your upgrades.
