Which 18.5" barrel for my 1979 Wingmaster 12GA

I'm going to make some changes to our 1979 Wingmaster 870 12GA with a 28" vented barrel. I don't know if it's choked or not but I'm still looking. This Wingmaster een in storage my wife had before we got married, so technically it's her gun according to California. It's been boxed up in its bag along with two other bolt action rifles for some 25+ years.

I pulled it out the other day just to see how it looked and it seems to be very clean.I didn't find any external rust but I couldn't tell if there were any on the inside of the barrel. Outside the blueing has only a few fine micro scratches and the furniture has a couple of minor dings that a good wood finisher could easily fix.

I plan to mostly use it a HD weapon and having fun at the range. To that end I'm adding a Magpul SGA stock and the MOE M-LOC forend. I was planing to not to re-coat it but stay with the original blueing as I like keeping the classic Windmaster color and I think it keeps the value of it up.

The only question is what color stock and forend will go well with the blued Wingmaster? I know it's a personal thing but I'm hoping that some here have done the same conversion and have some nice pictures.

I also plan to add other things such as a light, extended mag and a side saddle but none of those I've see come in any color but basic black or in the case of the side saddle also comes in FDE.

Currently I'm trying to decide on which 18" or 18.5" barrel to get. The only one I've found so far that comes with blueing is the F242252 Remington Barrel Remington 870 12 Gauge 3" 18-1/2" Improved Cylinder Bead Sight Blue. (BTW, will the Improved Cylinder take slugs?) Are there any other18" barrels that I've just not found which come blued.

Yes you want the Remington F242252 barrel and yes you can shoot foster slugs through it no issues.

Thank you very much, I'll order it soon. Now to figure out what color for the Magpul furniture to get.

I'm curious what you ended up going with, I'm considering doing something similar.
