Does anybody think that hornady hd buckshot is a little to much,seems like a potent round compared to some .i purchased a bunch of it and having second thoughts, maybe go back to federal, or Rem tac 8 any thoughts welcome thanks Slugnuts

I think marketing makes the world go round. I like Federal but even that may be the marketing rut I've decided to lay in.

If it goes bang every time and patterns well in your gun, run with it. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry ,couldn’t get back to subject sucrose , the hd 1600 fps made for hd ,

I have used that Hornady 00 Buckshot (1600 FPS) in my 870, and I feel it is a little overkill. Not my favorite load in the world. A little too much for me personally.
I went back to my Winchester 00 Buckshot, and am much more confident in my decision.

I think it's more velocity than you really need for 00B against a human at HD ranges. For the same recoil level, you could have more pellets instead.
