18.5" or 20"?
18.5" or 20"?
Ok, maybe this has been answered already but I didn't seem to find an exact answer. I am considering getting the 18.5 but if I wanted to use the gun as a dual purpose/survival weapon(in prep for the zombie apocalypse, of course), wouldn't the 20" be better? Thoughts?

I would do with an 20 in barrel if you had a full stock, but if you had a folding one 18 in.

By going to the 20" you would only gain 1 1/2" on the sight radius if you are using rifle sights or ghost rings (none on a bead), one extra round with a longer mag extension, and VERY minimal gain on velocity. What you are losing is a bit of maneuverability and adding extra weight. My preference would be the 18.5" for HD/EOTW/SHTF but that is me. Everyone has their own ideas and preferences. At some point, you may even consider getting a tax stamp from the ATF for a short barreled shotgun. A 14" barrel would greatly increase your maneuverability and with a 1 round extension you would still have 5 in the magazine. Good luck and have fun.

so I bought the 18.5" from S&J. Which mag extension should I get for that barrel?
