Short Bus's H&R Pardner (870 clone) build

Post by Short Bus » Thu Oct 31, 2013 9:59 am

I started with a new 100% stock H&R Pardner Protector

Image

I knew I was going to get one, so I had already ordered TacStar furniture

Image

and a AIM (not TacStar) side saddle

Image

The side saddle turned out to be junk (it broke after about 25 rounds of target loads)

After watching some videos on youtube I learned you can make the OEM tube 6+1 with a little work. It took more work than in the video, I had to grind down the dimples and trim the spring, but I got it to work (it's a tight fit).

Now I have more parts coming:

Light setup

Nordic Components Magazine Tube Extension (I should get 7+1 out of it)

Of course I needed a case and something to shoot at

I like the look of your build, Short Bus. Very cool accesories you are planning.
Especially like the "Tommy Gun" forened. LOOKS GREAT!! :D

The rail came today. It sticks out a little more than I would like. I borrowed the light from my SD9VE for test fitting.

On my SD (with Apex goodies, Mag extension isn't released yet :P )

I got the Mag extension today, I didn't get the 7th round in the tube, but I can use a spring that isn't cut way shorter than it should be for 6+1.

I don't like how far the rail sticks out on the Streamlight mount, so I ordered this

And a couple of these

Got a package from S&J today :D

Type 3 follower

Jumbo Safety

and the shell holder

And I also put in a Wolff magazine spring because I cut the one that came with my extension a little short and moved the rail/light back so I can activate it without taking my hand off the grip (at least until I get the rest of my permanent light setup)

Thank you!!! But I don't think it'll do any hunting, unless there's a zombie apocalypse or a bad guy goes bump in the night ;)

My bone stock Wingmaster will do just fine if I go hunting though :D
