Pistol Grip Stocks?

Post by Benjammin » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:59 pm

I'm considering replacing the standard sythetic stock on my 870 with a pistol grip style stock. I've never used on before, but I think I'd like it, so I'm going out on a limb. There are a few companies I've found offering them (ATI, SpeedFeed, the Rem Shurshot), does anyone have any advice for which would be a good one (or a bad one)? Some of them seem to only come on sets with the forend as well, I would prefer to avoid that I guess, for costs reasons (unless if the aftermarket forends are that much better)

I went for the Hogue. The grip is soft and pliable.

I thought about the Tacstar, but I liked the angle of the Hogue a little more. I did shoot mine with the wood pistol grip. It was ok, but I like the Hogue's rubber grip the best.

Hi Benjamin,

I was planning to do a complete review of my new Mesa Tactical Urbino Stock with CheekRiser & Limbsaver and send it to Vitaly this weekend....., when I saw your post.... So I decided to take a quick picture for you (sneek preview). I have installed quite a few pistol grip stocks on 870's in my time ... some are posted on this blog, but this is the best stock I have seen to date !!! ...period.

I will be sending Vitaly my complete review of the Mesa Tactical Urbino Stock with CheekRiser & Limbsaver by the end of the week.
