looking for some information

Post by doublereed » Thu Dec 27, 2012 4:15 pm

I've got a sportsman 12 that I bought many years ago. The barrel is damaged and I am looking to replace with a 870 barrel. I think the parts will interchange, but I haven't seen one of these in years. They were the cheaper version to the wingmaster before the express came along. Does anyone have any info to interchanging this barrel with a 870 barrel?

thanks

All 12ga 870 barrels have attached the same way since the '50s (with the exception of a few highly-specialized military/LE variants and a single dedicated HD model). An 870 is an 870, the differences between models are just materials, finishes, and accessories.

The sportsman 12 is an 870. But much better than an express. It comes with all the good parts. All 870 barrels will fit.
Don't buy it if you can't sell it.
