Hulls sticking in the 870 Express - Possible Solution

Post by JSwenson » Fri Dec 07, 2012 12:45 am

I have a new 870 Express, and I frequently had the “shell stuck in the chamber problem”. I resisted polishing the chamber because my chamber is as smooth as glass; it feels like it is case hardened. While looking on YouTube for tips on polishing the chamber, I found a film by a young man, who thought the problem was caused by the 870's single extractor forcing the back of the shell slightly to the opposite side and into a small grove just behind the chamber. I could not actually see or feel a grove on my barrel, but it was a little roughly machined in that area. Nothing to lose, so I polished that area. Went out and fired 50 rounds without a single problem. Now if I could get my ejector trubo charged, I might stop messing with this thing.
