870 express tactical with xs ghost rings doesn't come sighted in from Remington?

I was told that the 870 express tacticals that come with the xs ghost ring sights don't come sighted in from the factory like Mossbergs with ghost rings do. Is this the case that you've got to do it yourself?

I don't have the time to do that kind of thing. If someone can confirm this just let me know and I'll try and find me another police to bid on.

I don't know for sure, but I would assume that Remington has a standard "factory zero" setting for the sights upon installation. All 870s are test-fired at the factory, but this is done to ensure function and safety; it's not done in such a way as to allow for sighting-in. And even if it was, shotgun ammo varies so much that it's impossible to set the sights to work out of the box with anything and everything on your local store's shelves.

If you want a new gun to shoot where it's aiming, you need to make a range trip with the ammo you intend to use. This is normal for pretty much any firearm with adjustable sights.

The only guns I've bought that were dead on from the factory have been my mossbergs with ghost rings and my springfield xd. My rifles not so much.

I bought several 870 Police models in the last 2 -3 years and it seem they had been sighted in.
Barrels were dirty ... meaning they had been shot ... and the sights were on target at 50 yards.
No need for adjustments.

Non Police models might be a totally different story .....

My 870 express tactical with ghost ring sights were dead on at 25 yards with slugs. Tear out the black with various slugs.
