Benelli Supernova vs. our beloved 870?

Post by Mifune326 » Mon May 14, 2012 5:23 pm

Anyone here ever shot a Benelli Supernova? If so, how does it compare to our beloved 870? Likes and/or dislikes about the Supernova?

Thanks!

Chris, most of my teammates use Benelli Supernova shotguns and they are totally happy with them.

There are several good things about Benelli Supernova:
1. Benelli Comfortech Stock - reduces recoil. I have tried it and it really works.
2. Safety button placement - very convenient.
3. Chokes.
4. Long forend.
5. Plastic coating.

Good shotgun. The only thing I don't like about is that it doesn't have as many upgrades as Remington 870.

Excellent! Thanks for the info Vitaly. What was it about the 870 that made it your 1st choice over all other shotguns to compete with?

How long have you been shooting shotgun and how long have you been competing?

The answer is reliability. Remington 870 is believed to be the most reliable pump-shotgun in the world and it is true. Yes, you need to make several upgrades to make it 100% reliable but that's not difficult. I talk about polishing chamber and changing extractor.

By the way, I am going to order several upgrades and make posts when I receive them: sear spring, latch spring and Police trigger plate assembly. I am completely satisfied with parts I have at the moment, but I receive lots of questions about those upgrades.

I am shooting shotgun and competing for just 3 years. But I do a lot of dry fire training at home and participate in all competitions I can - this enables me to grow as shooter very fast. Competition - is the easiest way to grow because you push yourself to the limits and perform in many different stages.

Would it be possible for you to post a description of your dry-fire drills Vitaly?

Thanks!
